The Logate® Open Provider scheduler is entirely new and it's much alike the scheduler that is found in Linux kernels. It aims to maximize overall interactive performance. All remote hosts that send requests are identified as independent tasks on the run queue. Tasks that handle many requests are less nice while tasks playing nice pays off. Even during considerable system load, the scheduler reacts and run nice tasks immediately. This ensures absolute fairness. In case of sudden increase of load, the scheduler spawns additional worker-threads. And every worker can be set with a maximum number of requests to be processed before it stops. That's why the scheduler can effectively compensate for the current burst of incoming requests.
